Rainbow sensory bottle | Calm down bottle

Updated: Nov 3, 2021

I would be lying if I said I just made these for kids; I absolutely love making and looking at rainbow sensory bottles!

I really enjoy seasonal and themed sensory bottles, however this rainbow bottle is a classic around here.

I have used Smart Water and Voss Water bottles, small travel containers from the dollarstore, and my personal favorite - reusable plastic juicing containers which I found on Amazon!

If your container of choice is a water bottle I recommend soaking it in hot soapy water over night, or soaking it in vinegar for at least 30 minutes. The adhesive behind the stickers is very adhesive.

*Edit: a follower mentioned filling up the bottle with really hot water before soaking it. It warms up the adhesive and speeds up the process!

(If you try this craft send in a photo on Instagram @PrairieMamasBlog to be shared!) The travel size bottles are great for tiny hands!

Materials

- water beads here

- clear bottle here

- baby oil

- hot glue gun

Instructions:

1) Start growing your water beads!

(3-12 hours)

I bought water beads that came separated. If your colours are mixed together, soak them first, then separating them will be a lot easier.

2) Prepare the bottle you'll be using

Clean off adhesive, if applicable.

3) Once the beads are all grown up, fill the bottle to the very top with beads.

If there's too much room, the different colors will mix together when it's shaken.

4) Add baby oil

5) Hot glue the lid onto your bottle. If you're using a travel container, make sure all the openings are glued shut.
